Interns take on real projects in areas like outreach, analytics, and finance — working directly alongside SAPS mentors who guide the work and the feedback that comes with it. No busywork, no shadowing.

  • What's one thing you learned at your SAPS internship that you still use in school or work today?

    I think more than anything, I truly refined my teamwork skills. The role pushes you to communicate your ideas and be prepared to receive feedback. With two mentors in the UI/UX position, I was able to hear a lot of ideas and receive different types of feedback due to differing perspectives. I then had to apply that knowledge to make decisions that accommodated a mix of those ideas.

  • What would you tell someone who is thinking about applying and interning with SAPS?

    • Ask questions and don’t be afraid to ask for help when needed

    • Really try to get the most out of the experience you’re getting. Treat each task as less of an assignment and more of a learning opportunity

    I would definitely say just go for it no matter what your mind is telling you. I was relatively nervous about applying at first out of fear of not fitting in or being rejected, but applying was one of the best decisions I made last summer.

  • How did your SAPS internship help you better prepare for the next chapter of your life?

    I learned a lot about planning events, team collaboration, and the overall dynamic of professional settings. This experience helped me develop skills like time management, professional communication, critical thinking, and a problem-solving mindset
